Jesus Christ I am so God damn sick of seeing so many people complaining about ‘skanky’ super hero outfits. Here’s a fun little thing: IT’S A FREAKING COMIC BOOK! Everyone who is all “EUGHH YOU CAN’T FIGHT IN THAT” you obviously don’t understand comic book logic. Tit slips are virtually impossible and you can be as flexible and nimble as possible while wearing a skin tight catsuit. UGH THIS IS OFFENSIVE AGAINST WOMEN, I’M SO OFFENDED PERSONALLY! Oh I’m sorry, I had no idea that scantily dressed people had such a negative impact on your life. Holy shit, these women are so empowered and kick total ass and stand for things that everyone should, and people are complaining about their outfits? It’s supposed to prove that women can be sexy and beat the crap out of people without breaking a sweat, not to offend every single butthurt woman that is so uncomfortable with the human body that they feel the need to speak up. Each and every one of you is a silly bastard and needs to stop being offended by every little thing that you see. Christ on a bike…

I like how you use ad hominem attacks like “every single butthurt woman that is so uncomfortable with the human body” when the OP you’re actively reblogging has said:

The issue isn’t sexy outfits, or sexy poses, or sexualization in general- it’s pointless, cheap, lifeless sexualization with no purpose or wit to it. What fun is that? What fun is it when every superpowered female in mainstream comics is dressed and posed sexually, and yet few of the characters actually own or acknowledge it? Honestly, that’s just boring.

By contrast, take Poison Ivy- she knows she’s hot stuff and uses it to her advantage as a villain. It’s a integral part of her personality, and the writing and art acknowledges it and has sexy, sexy fun with it. This is awesome! It is also awesome, however, to have a ful spectrum of female heroes where not every single one of them is subject to the vicious male gaze that’s so pervasive in the entertainment industry.

Again, sexy != bad, it’s just not all that’s out there. When everything’s sexy, nothing is. :/
