DCU: Online trailer Poison Ivy (original design)
Saturday, SDCC 2012 | me, Aidan (DCUO Harley) & Colin (DCUO Joker)
Aidan’s been dying to make the Harley and Joker costumes from the DCU:O trailer for her and Colin, so I decided to ignore the fact that Ivy is little more than a corpse in that trailer and design a comparably post-apocalyptic Poison Ivy costume to match theirs.
I went with a lot of scavenged GCPD uniform pieces- ruined jacket, badge, hat, etc- along with Batman’s bloodied/repurposed utility belt and a lot of stupid poison puns. If you call the number on my hat you get the National Poison Control Center! Stupidly proud of that.
Here’s my original concept, painted on top of the DCU:O turnarounds for Ivy:
…and then my updated sketch as I started to refine the concept, and cut out a bit of business that didn’t work as well in practice:
I’ll try to post some more detail shots later, but I just wanted to get this out there and show off how awesome my butt looked. JUST SAYIN’.
