The resemblance [this person I don’t want to call out] has to your work is frightening, particularly their [specific] piece in color. o.O
This is true! They’ve cited me as an inspiration in at least one instance, so I’m assuming it’s just a younger artist finding their stylistic voice. I’m not particularly bothered when people mimic the style of the series- it’s nice if people send me a note, sure, but I don’t own style or colouring techniques so that’s completely their prerogative.
What does surprise me is that so many people don’t just mimic the idea, which has totally been done before (historical Disney, nothing to write home about), but are keen to mimic the dark backgrounds, the vignetted edges, the canvas texture in the background, the whole kit and kaboodle. I really hope that’s not the one thing that makes the series so appealing to folks, because by gum they do like to try it out for themselves. :)

I personally find the way you do your lines the most amazing part. I’ve done two pieces inspired by your series, and I do feel I’ve learned a lot about how to make my pieces a lot more detailed and professional.

I’d take a stab at something similiar…if I actually knew how to us PS/OC/Insert-Other-Art-Programs-Here to their full potential.
Technology still confuddles me.
